Information gathered by DGN Online indicates that more than eight herdsmen have lost their lives in a suspected reprisal attacks on Zakole, a herder community in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern region.
Reports say this comes after the killing of a Teacher of Dagbon State Senior High School, Jacob Koila in a suspected armed robbery incident at Zagban on the Yendi-Zabzugu road.
Some youth of the area angered by the killing of the teacher, went on a rampage killing at least eight persons they suspected to have a hand in the incident, according to a report carried by GNC News and monitored by DGN Online,
Report said the incident had left herdsmen in the area to live in fear for their lives.
Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Police Command has confirmed the incident, saying they are deploying police personnel to the area to restore law and order.
