Players of Ashgold displaying the new kits at the event
Betway Ghana, sponsors of Ashgold has unveiled beautifully designed customized new kits for the club for the 2016/2017 season at a ceremony in Accra.
Some players of the Obuasi-based side donned both the home and away jerseys at the well-put together outdooring ceremony as they look forward to the start of the season.
The home shirt has the Miners usual traditional yellow and black, while the away jersey is predominantly black and white with green as the goalkeeper’s jersey with Betway boldly embossed on the chest.
Marketing Manager at Betway, Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah mentioned that his outfit recognizes the club as one of the most successful clubs in the country and wish to collaborate and be part of other success stories to come.
He added that “The club, no doubt has one of the best facilities in the country and has over the years produced great players for the country, hence our association with them.”
“As we unveil the new kits, we are hopeful that it would go a long way to help the club win this season’s Premier League.”
He mentioned that Betway has plans to support the club with technical, branding and finance to ensure that they excel in the upcoming season and beyond.”
Club Chief Executive Officer Kudjoe Fianoo expressed appreciation to Betway for the support and gave the assurance that the club would reach greater heights.
“This is a journey of great success that could be liken to the partnership between English Premiership side West Ham and Betway,” he stated.
He added that the injection of cash into the Club by Betway would no doubt catapult Ashgold to higher heights.
Recently, the betting company, Betway signed a two-year renewable deal with the club.
Ashgold SC has produced notable players in the country, including current Black Stars internationals Mubarak Wakaso (Panathinaikos), Jonathan Mensah (FC Anzhi), Lawrence Lartey (Kaizer Chiefs) and national goalkeeper Fatau Dauda.
