Some of the tricycles
Some party supporters in the Northern Region stormed the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and took away three tricycles belonging to Unik Savannah.
According to the security man, a group of people came to SADA at about 2am Saturday and scaled the wall into the yard to attack him.
The other security man in the yard of the SADA took cover for fear of being attacked.
He indicated that they entered the premises with a pick-up and took away three new tricycles, adding that they broke the padlocks on the container with the tricycle batteries and stole all of them.
A member of the Interim Management Team of Unik Savannah, Alhaji Abubakari Issahaka, who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, said the unknown persons made away with three tricycles and three tricycle batteries.
According to him, the matter was reported to the police who moved to the company to investigate.
He appealed to residents in Tamale and its environs to volunteer information to the company to help arrest the culprits and retrieve the tricycles.
“Anyone who sees any brand new tricycle without registration should contact our office for us to examine it,” he added.
The Northern Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah indicated that the matter had been reported to the police, adding that investigations have commenced into the matter.
According to him, SADA does not belong to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
DCOP Ken Yeboah stated that three tricycles were stolen from SADA yard and that two of them had been retrieved so far.
He also disclosed that a similar incident happened at Zoomlion when some persons went there to take over the company.
“At Zabzugu, party supporters stormed the assembly to take over the offices. I wonder what you are going to take from the assembly, are you a District Chief Executive?” he quizzed.
When DAILY GUIDE visited SADA, security had been beefed up at the company.
A combined military and police team is currently protecting the company from further attacks from party supporters in the region.
