The winners of the competition
The children’s ministry of Action Chapel International, Spintex, Accra, over the weekend emerged winners at the grand finale of a keenly contested dance competition dubbed ‘save the last dance for Jesus’.
They received a trophy, a certificate of participation and products donated by the sponsors of the event.
Two other children’s ministries from Ebenezer Methodist, Madina and the Ghana Police Church, Accra, came second and third respectively, taking home a trophy and a certificate of participation, including products donated by the sponsors.
Kakra Opoku-Agyakwa, Programmes Coordinator for Youth Link Ghana, mentioned that the event is held annually as a platform to bring the various children’s ministries together to unearth their creative talents through music and dancing.
According to him, eight children’s ministries from participating churches within Accra took part in the event which was held at the Church of Pentecost International Worship Centre, Burma Camp, Accra.
“We are happy to bring these future leaders together to a common platform for socialisation but more importantly to encourage them to consider making a move which will lead to pooling resources to support some members of the society who need such a service,” he remarked.
He explained that the winner of the contest, Action Chapel, is mandated to undertake a fundraising initiative for a project which will meet a need of their preferred beneficiary.
