Police Raids Guesthouse Used As Brothel

The Accra Regional Police Command has apprehended Managing Director of Sam Housing Guest House off the Spintex Road for converting his facility into a brothel.

The suspect Sam Atobrah, according to police, had kept women who were practicing prostitution at the guest house.

Other suspects, according to the police, were also engaged in human trafficking.

The police raided the said brothel Saturday night to arrest 36 people, including 21 ladies and 16 men between the ages of 20 and 41.

Among the 36 arrested were 24 Nigerians women who were into prostitution.

ASP Effia Tenge, Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told the media that Mr Atobrah was arrested for using the facility as a brothel.

The other suspects are Chioma Obi,  25, Prisca Steve,  30, Nice John, 22, Blessing Kalo, 25, Blessing Daniels,22, Lovelet Emmanuel, 22, Blessing Edem, 24, Blessing Ajayi, 24, Angel Peter 27, Lilian Ntuk, 22, Tovia Nath, 22, Natasha John, 20, Samantha Osaro, Favour Edem, Joy Sam, Samira Sumail and  Anita Umeh

The rest are Sandra Idoko, Samantha Jacobs, Peter Golden Abigail, Taila Gilbert, Royan Brown, 29, Don Brown, 30, Iris Idaho, 27, Nosa John, 21, Sunday Ojoley, 27, Nana Poku, 23, Christian Agudey Senam, 41, Chris Eriga,27, Kelvin Solomon, 17, Joshua Okiemuti, Dennis Osten Okom, Akpakli Enock, John Jerry, Frank Lawrence and Austin Mcjohn.

She said in the course of the operation, some of the suspected prostitutes were caught having sex with their partners.

Some quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and condoms were retrieved from the suspects.

She said the suspects are being processed for court.
