Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah has demonstrated gross love to inmates of James Camp Prison, Roman Ridge by constructing a football pitch for them.
The construction of the facility, worth thousands of Cedis, was facilitated by Metro Sports Project, which seeks to provide a conducive football platform for the inmates to realize their full potential.
Last Saturday, Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, a former team mate of Asamoah at Udinese, Sammy Anim Addo, local manager of Asamoah Gyan, the leadership of Metro TV and other dignitaries, commissioned the facility on behalf of Kwadwo Asamoah, the Champions League finalist.
DDP at the James Camp Prison Patience Baffoe Bonnie (Mrs) expressed copious thanks to Asamoah and the Metro Sports team for the gesture.
According to Badu, the facility would help unearth and polish many football talents at the camp.
He urged the inmates to learn at the facility and aspire to reach the top after jail term.
During the inauguration, which was themed ‘Inspiring correction for social  re-integration’ the James Camp soccer side played against Metro TV Sports team, which featured the likes of Badu, rap star Obrafour, Klala, Anim Addo, Michael Kofi Oduro etc, with Ernest Koranteng as coach.
James Camp opened the scoring with a free-kick, but Badu provided a perfect assist for Anim Addo to level it, which resulted in a penalty shootout that was won by the hosts.
The Italy’s Ambassador to Ghana, Lorenzo Pinelli, Fadi Fattal, KK Kpeli, DOP, HRD also graced the well organized event sponsored by Rush Energy Drink, Papaye Fast Foods, Buena, Haramani Ventures etc.
