First Lady Hailed Over KATH Project

Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Lady Julia during the commissioning of the MBU

FIRST LADY Rebecca Akufo-Addo has been praised for her vision that has led to the construction of the new Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

Similarly, Lady Julia, wife of Asantehene Osei Tutu II, has also been lauded for significantly contributing to make the first lady’s vision of saving the lives of pregnant mothers and babies a reality.

Edmund Kyei, Asokwa Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), showered tonnes of praises on the two respected ladies during an interview with DAILY GUIDE.

He stated that Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Lady Julia had uplifted the image of Ghanaian women by playing crucial roles to make the country benefit from such a modern medical facility to boost healthcare delivery.

According to him, the new MBU project is one of the best things that has happened to Kumasi in particular and Ghana in general, in recent times.

Mr Edmund Kyei recounted how innocent pregnant women and babies were losing their lives at will at KATH, basically due to lack of modern infrastructure and equipment at the teaching hospital.

“This is what first ladies and wives of traditional leaders in the country should do in helping to expedite the developmental processes of our dear motherland, Ghana,” the top NPP communicator pointed out.
