B. Ryt Accuses Organisers Of MTN Hitmaker 6 Of Favouritism

MTN Hitmaker 6 contestant Bright Owusu Anti, known in showbiz as B.Ryt, has alleged he was wrongly evicted from the reality show last year.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NEWS-ONE yesterday, he described his eviction as “baseless”.

According to him, the organisers didn’t have enough time to properly examine his talent because he was evicted just when the show started.

“Things have been tough in my music life, especially after MTN Hitmaker. I feel they discredited me in the competition because I was evicted on a baseless reason and due to that I can say most reality shows are dream killers in Ghana,” he revealed.

“I was evicted from the MTN Hitmaker competition for reasons I still don’t understand but it will be best known to the organisers, because it wasn’t about voting or me not being potential enough in a sense that it was just the first show down and they didn’t know what I had to deliver. I think they had their favourites,” he alleged.

“But all the same I’m here with the new banger called ‘Y? Chilli’, meaning we are having fun. And I call it best highlife song in 2018 because I strongly believe there will be none better than mine,” he added.

Efforts to speak with organisers yesterday proved futile.

  1. Ryt, born Bright Owusu Anti, is a graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). He is a highlife musician but also does different genres of music. He currently has five songs ‘Daakye’ directed by Prince Dovlo, ‘Bra Fie’ ft D Cryme directed by Abstrakte, ‘Ebi You’, ‘Don’t Wanna Lose You’ and ‘Y? Chilli’.

“I call myself the prince of highlife because undoubtedly there’s no artiste in the industry as young as me doing contemporary highlife music,” he pointed out.

  1. Ryt hails from Akim Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He started his basic education at the Madina Cluster of Schools and later went to Collins High School at Asante Akyem Agogo and then proceeded to the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).

“Music, to me, is a God-given talent which started at a very tender age singing and playing instruments at church. And as an artiste, I take inspiration from the little scenarios I find myself in and that gingered my creativity in bringing this song ‘Y? Chilli,” he said about his talent and music inspiration.
