PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was singled out for commendation during a workshop for stakeholders in the hospitality industry in Kumasi.
Hotel owners and managers that graced the one-day programme said the president had saved their businesses by reducing power tariffs.
According to them, an exorbitant monthly light bill was rapidly collapsing their businesses but the problem had now been reduced by the President.
They therefore heaped plaudits on the President and also urged him to do more for their businesses to experience transformation.
The service training for hospitality industry players in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions was organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
The GTA had received complaints from a lot of people over poor delivery by hotels in the country and as a responsible institution the GTA reacted appropriately.
The Ag.GTA Deputy Executive Director in charge of operations, Ekow Sampson, said the refresher programme was to help sharpen the delivery of the attendants.
He said representatives from hotels, food and beverages and entertainment operators from Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions attended the event.
Mr. Ekow Sampson entreated hotel managers to always ensure that professional services are rendered to their clients to boost the image of the industry.
He observed that virtually all foreigners that visit the country stay in hotels so if poor services are offered to them Ghana’s image will be soiled.
Mr. Ekow Sampson therefore reiterated the strong need for players in the hospitality industry, notably the hotels, to uphold professionalism at all times.
He said government is committed to working to ensure that players in the hospitality industry always adhere to professional standards at all times.
