The new executives swearing the oath of office
SPARE PARTS DEALERS at Abossey Okai in Accra on Tuesday, December 4, swore in new executives to take up the reigns of administration of the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuman Central, Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey, among other high-profile personalities.
Delivering the keynote address for the ceremony, Mr. Nartey commended the outgoing leadership of the association for the great work they had done in previous years to ensure the development of the association and the welfare of its members.
He admonished the incoming executives to treat their new offices with utmost dignity and respect for all. He urged them to unite and have a common front so that they can advance their interests on issues because unity bears positive results.
The MP also bemoaned the reluctance of members of the association to pay their business operating permits, saying that the government needs those funds for the development of their stations.
He again pleaded with the members to treat the newly sworn in executives and their colleagues with maximum respect.
Mayor of Accra, in his brief remarks, also commended the leadership of the association for a smooth and successful election of new leaders. He entreated them to work hard in advancing the goals of the association to make it better. He assured them of government’s support at all times.
In all, twenty-one persons were sworn in as executives of the association. Clement Boateng and Siaw Ampadu took over the reigns as chairmen of the association, while Peter Kwabena Ampomah and Agyei Mireku would deputize them as first and second vice chairmen respectively.
The secretariat would be manned by Nana Frimpong, Nana Dankyi Berko and Paul Ansah. Francis Anom would head the Public Relations (PR) Department and would be assisted by Eric Antwi and Eric Crentsil.
The position of Financial Secretary would be held by Nana Peprah and Agnes Agyemang Boateng, whereas Mr. Essilfie holds the fort as Treasurer.
The position of Organizer had Abraham Fianu, George Asiedu and Ben Nana Adjin. Others were Sampson Quainoo, Joseph Kofi Acheampong and Stephen Debrah.
Rose Owusu and Gifty Oppong would hold the office of women executives for the association.
