Neymar has infuriated LGBT groups in his native Brazil and has been accused of homophobia and threatening Tiago Ramos after a row between his mother and her 23-year-old lover in their home.
The mother of the Paris Saint-Germain star, Nadine Goncalves, and Ramos were recently questioned by Brazilian police over an accident which saw the latter rushed to hospital.
Goncalves, 52, called an ambulance after Ramos suffered an injury during a reported row in the couple’s apartment in Santos. It was later revealed that Ramos needed 12 stitches in his arm, with Brazilian reports stating the wound was caused by a glass.
But leaked audio, which allegedly features Neymar’s voice, has put the Brazilian superstar in hot water and led to accusations of discrimination by an LGBT group in the South American country.
They have reportedly filed a lawsuit against the former Barcelona forward after he allegedly threatened Ramos with violence.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the audio was taken from popular video game streaming platform Twitch and published by Leo Dias, a writer for Brazilian Portuguese newspaper Metropoles. A video of the purported conversation is now on YouTube.
It apparently shows Neymar calling Ramos a ‘viadinho’, a highly offensive term to homosexuals in Portuguese.
It is also claimed the audio shows that Neymar does not think the incident that left Ramos in hospital was not an accident.
Reports also claim Neymar agreed with a friend’s suggestion that someone should place a broomstick inside Ramos’ anus.
Marca claimed an LGBT organisation has already issued legal proceedings against Neymar for using the derogatory term ‘viadinho’ towards Ramos.
The message sent to the Brazilian Public Ministry is claimed, according to Russian TV programme RT News, to have read, “By reporting that the mother’s boyfriend is bisexual, he (Neymar) and his friends hinted at the possibility of assaulting a gay man, including the insertion of a broom into the anus of the mother’s boyfriend.”
Neymar’s mother and Ramos began dating in April, but Brazilian press stated the pair recently reconciled following a break-up on May 21.
The romance caused shockwaves in Brazil, especially as the model is reported to have been in several gay relationships before dating the footballer’s mother, including one with Neymar’s personal chef.
