Rebecca Akufo-Addo, First Lady
First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has thrown her weight behind the campaign for voluntary blood donation, urging all healthy Ghanaian citizens to give blood.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo, who is also the executive director of the Rebecca Foundation, in a statement on World Blood Donor Day, acknowledged the role of voluntary blood donors who make the difference between life and death.
She however, noted that with the Covid-19 outbreak, blood is becoming more insufficient for people in critical conditions as many of the locations that used to host blood drives, have closed their doors.
The First Lady stressed that it is in times of crisis that Ghanaians must come together to save lives.
“So today, I am supporting the call for all healthy Ghanaian citizens, to be Champions of Change, Please give blood and save lives,” she stated.
