NABCO personnel in Bono Region Build shelter for Atronie Health Centre
As part of activities marking two years of their recruitment into the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), personnel of the corps in the Bono Region have made a donation to Atronie Health Centre in the Sunyani Municipality.
They have also constructed a well-furnished shelter where lactating mothers will wait while nurses attend to their new-born babies.
It was commissioned by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Sunyani, Justina Awo Banahene, and assisted by the Regional Coordinator of NABCO for Ahafo, Bono and Bono East regions, Kofi Ofosu Boateng. Other items donated included plastic chairs, office chairs, office tables, desk or file drawer in which to keep folders, weighing scales and temperature guns which were purchased from the contribution of their meagre salaries, and it was meant to show appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for giving them job.
Madam Awo Banahene thanked the NABCO personnel for the gesture and assured them government was working out a modality to give them permanent jobs, so they should vote for four more for Nana come December 7 elections.
The Municipal Director of Health Services, Romeo Kwashie, praised the NABCO personnel for the facility, saying it would address a lot of challenges.
He said the Atronie Health Centre caters for more than 1,000 OPD cases from the surrounding communities.
“Though the facility caters for antenatal and post-natal mothers, including, child welfare cases, adolescent health education, we are short of shelter to keep patients as they wait for their turn, so we are grateful,” he said.
He pleaded with government and other well-meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid with more facilities.
Mr. Ofosu Boateng was full of praise for the personnel for taking a little out of their meagre salaries to help those in need.
