Nana Okyere Tawiah Antwi speaking at the graduation ceremony
The Acting District Chief Executive of Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region has flayed pastors who have shirked their sacred duty to preach the message of salvation and are busily exploiting vulnerable believers.
Nana Okyere-Tawiah Antwi wondered why many preachers today have become ‘lovers’ of money instead of ‘lovers’ of the gospel, thereby leading ‘gullible’ souls to suffer what he called ‘eternal damnation.’
Speaking at the first graduation ceremony organized by the Christ-Conscious Leadership Centre (CLC), a para-church organization established to educate and train Christian leaders in Kumasi over the weekend, the DCE said those graduating should not follow the footsteps of those fake pastors.
The maiden ceremony, which was under the theme “Making Christ the Focus of Ministry in the Church and the World”, was held at Fire Trinity Ministry International at Aburaso, where 19 students graduated with Diploma in Ministry.
The DCE, who was the guest of honour, charged the young ministers of the gospel “not to cause trouble in the world” but be “agents of positive change, channels of solutions and honest servants in their services to God and humanity.”
“I encourage you to also rely on 1 Corinthians 1: 11 to make Christ known to all and not copy the activities of false pastors around,” he implored them.
In a sermon, Apostle Justice Boffah Pokumensah, a lecturer at the Christian Service University College (CSUC), said Christianity was under siege from false teachings and practices and advised the new ministers not to conform to the world but to transform it.
Ministering under the theme “Doing the will of God”, the man of God urged the graduands to seek the face of God rather than rely on their own strengths and experiences.
He appealed to them to discover the purpose of God for their ministries, which would make them happy and concentrate on kingdom business and prevent them from seeking and amassing worldly things.
In his welcoming address, Pastor James Quansah, President of CLC, said the para-church organization was established to educate, train and equip the end-time ministers to be Christ-centred and gospel-focused.
Pastor Quansah, who is the Ashanti Regional Manager of DAILY GUIDE, charged the graduands to unite with their senior pastors, junior pastors and all believers to serve the Lord’s church and the world with the knowledge they have acquired.
He said the power of false prophets, false apostles and false teachers is the ignorance of most Christians, pointing out that Christians who would not commit themselves to studying the Bible to know Christ Jesus and understand Christian ministry better would always remain vulnerable in the hands of false ministers.
