The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Kwasi Agyeman Busia, has been admitted into the Hall of Fame for the Transport Sector.
The honour, which was conferred on him at the 2021 CEO’s Summit in Accra, was to acknowledge his achievements in transforming the DVLA which is under the Transport Ministry.
Mr. Busia took over as CEO of DVLA four years ago and has since worked tirelessly with management to craft a strategic plan with customer service excellence and financial sustainability as its centerpiece, whiles leveraging people, process and technology as the tenets to archiving the Authority’s core mandate.
This strategic plan led to the complete image transformation of the Authority as it leveraged technology in the coordination and streamlining of the process to ensure the ability to provide prestige, premium and regular service for driver license delivery within 30 minutes, two weeks and a month, respectively.
He also managed the logistics for the deployment of Digitised Vehicle Registration system. This innovation has all vehicles registered in the country since 1995 successfully digitised.
Mr. Busia further implemented a new road worthy certificate regimen to replace a hitherto severely compromised version.
The DVLA CEO also coordinated the installation of a modern customer service call centre and revamped and repositioned the management of manufacturing, embossing and the securitisation of vehicle license plates.
Acting Director, Finance, DVLA, Andrews Denteh, received the award on his behalf at the ceremony and thanked the organisers for the honour done Mr. Busia.
The new award brings to 26, the number of recognitions received by the Authority in the last four years.
