Abena Korkor
Former TV3 presenter and mental health advocate, Abena Korkor, over the weekend set social media ablaze, after going public once again about her bedroom encounters with men.
In a live video on Instagram on Friday, June 4, 2021, Korkor put out a list of some influential Ghanaian men who have allegedly been warming her bed. One of them, she suggested, needed to upgrade his sex life because he was not “too good” in bed.
The names on Korkor’s list are mostly media personalities who are happily married and this is the second time some of them were mentioned by her.
In 2015, the beautiful young woman who has reportedly been suffering from bipolar disorder, gained popularity after releasing her own nudes. She then subsequently put out names of men she claimed she had slept with, including politicians, and TV & Radio presenters. She all of sudden became a social media sensation.
Reports at the time suggested that her actions were out of bipolar disorder. She later got a job at TV3, to among other objectives promote her advocacy for mental health but she was recently sacked.
Korkor’s release of the new list on Friday was necessitated by an interview she granted to the ‘Delay Show’, after one of the men she previously mentioned allegedly lied about her on the same show.
According to her, all the men she slept with were close to a hundred but she mentioned only a few in her upgraded list on Friday.
“I’ve slept with like over…maybe I’m getting close to 100 guys all my life and so what?” she indicated.
Talking about her sexual experiences in public, she suggested it was therapeutical for her.
She trended heavily on social media on Saturday and also made a lot of headlines in the traditional media circles as a result.
While some persons trolled and criticised her and those on her list, others were sympathetic to her because they believed she was going through a relapse.
“We need to do better and educate ourselves on mental health issues @missabenakorkor has bipolar disorder and the break down she had recently is a manic episode that can be caused by a number of things but the biggest trigger is STRESS,” Director of Golden Movie Awards Africa, Mimi Andani Michaels said.
“One thing I noticed is that when she was @tv3_ghana she was not getting manic episodes and that is because her mind was occupied doing something she truly loves. One of the things that prevents you from getting a manic episode is have a consistent schedule and sleeping well. What this means is that, having a work schedule and busy with the brain positively reduces episodes. So @tv3_ghana you did good for hiring someone with that disorder but now you have caused more harm than good! She needs to get back on schedule, working, busy, active and all. May help locate you @missabenakorkor,” she added.
Meanwhile, NEWSONE sources say some of the men mentioned in the list are having serious problems with their wives at home as a result of Korkor’s revelation.
