The Madina Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Accra has announced its scholarship package for 18 disadvantaged students, as part of its commitment in providing quality and affordable education to the needy but brilliant students across the country.

The beneficiaries were 13 males and five females with scholarship packages ranging between 50 per cent and 100 per cent covering the four-year period of studies.

The Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Dr. Mohammed-Sani Abdulai, said the institute intended to grant 100 scholarships annually to the institute’s students regardless of the person’s ethnic background or geographical location.

He encouraged the awardees to maintain high academic standards to inspire and build the confidence of other students.

Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Rabiatu Deinyo Ammah, who graced the occasion, admonished the students not to joke with their studies and consider the scholarship as a privilege to them.

About 300 students from various Senior High Schools (SHS) attended the ceremony. They included students from Sidiq SHS, Agona Nyakro and the Suhum Islamic Girls SHS.
