ACE highlife/afro jazz musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley will this Saturday, December 18, headline a musical concert dubbed “Ambolley And Friends” being organised to celebrate highlife music at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra.
The event, which will kick off from 8pm till late in the night, is expected to attract large number of matured highlife music lovers.
It will be an evening of live band music and seeks to promote Ghanaian highlife music and dance, and is anticipated to be historic because it will feature selected music personalities who will join Ambolley to thrill fans with great tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley, whose live musical performances have won the hearts of many music lovers in Ghana and beyond, will treat the music fans to an unforgettable live musical performance.
He will perform some of his popular tunes such as ‘Simigwa Do’, ‘Adwoa Amissah’, ‘Akoko Ba’, among others.
The organisers told BEATWAVES the event is going to be seven hours of non-stop performances from all the musicians on the bill.
It will also showcase performances from acts such as Dela Botri, Pat Thomas, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Ackablay, Wazumbi, and a host of others.
Currently, all eyes are on Amandzeba Nat Brew, Pat Thomas and Gyedu Blay Ambolley.
Stars meeting on one stage are a clear indication that the event would not only be about the music but also a sizzling mix bag of pure entertainment served on one menu.
Widely respected for their creativity and ability to churn out regular hits, the musicians are expected to deliver their finest performances on the stage come Saturday, December 18.
“Lovers of live band music should get ready to experience an unforgettable night with full of surprises. A night of total fun and electrifying performances is guaranteed,” the organisers said.
Highlife music fans can be assured of great music, extraordinary stage artistry and of course, lots of dancing in the truly authentic ‘Ghanaian’ style.
The event is also geared towards reviving the spirit of highlife music in an atmosphere of relaxation and networking.
