Nana Agyei Kokoo Takyi Firi I
Nana Agyei Takyi Firi Beyeeman I, the newly gazetted chief of Tuobodom in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Region, has urged the government to facilitate the establishment of a tomato factory in his area.
He said the factory would save the numerous tomato farmers from perennial losses during bumper harvest.
Nana Agyei Takyi Firi was speaking to the media after he was introduced to the Bono East House of Chiefs during the annual conference of the House of Chiefs to end the year.
He said Tuobodom is well-known for the production of tomatoes, but since there is no tomato factory sited in the area, some people have taken advantage of the poor farmers by buying the products at cheap prices.
He said his mission is to help in the development of the area by making the youth the cornerstone of his initiatives.
Speaking on education, Nana Beyeeman charged parents to take advantage of the Free SHS programme of the government.
He said in the current dispensation, education is indispensable and a time will come when one may regret not being educated.
Nana Pemampem Yaw Kabrese IV, the Bono East President of the House of Chiefs, admonished the new entrant to use his vast experience to help the House to chalk successes.
He also asked the chief to use his good offices to help curb the numerous chieftaincy troubles plaguing the region and work to bring peace in his area since no community can see any meaningful development without peace.
