“Through your thought-provoking articles, reports, and compelling storytelling, you have successfully raised awareness about the importance of quality education and the need for equitable access for all.“

The Chief of the Bimbagu South Traditional Area, Chief Ubor Sigom Daniel Tibila, presented the citation to Eric Kombat when he visited the community with Alewah Foundation who read about the plight of the Mayeem D/A primary school and decided to support the school.

The Alewah Foundation supported the school with 20 pieces of furniture, 100 uniforms, books, pens, pencils, assorted drinks, biscuits, sanitary pads, school bags, clothes, 2 wheelchairs for the health centre, and other learning materials.

Mr. Kombat thanked the chiefs and people of the Bimbagu South Traditional Area for the honour and assured them that he would continue to tell the story of the community to the world to attract development to the area.

The constituents of the Bimbagu South in the 2020 general elections refused to vote because they felt neglected by politicians who have visited the community canvassing for votes but have failed to bring development to the area.

According to them, they have been voting since 1992 but to date, they do not have electricity, lack potable water, school blocks, and clinic among others.
