The students with officials of DNI Foundation
St. Theresah Vocational Training Center for the physically challenged in Abor of the Volta Region has accepted six students with diverse physical disabilities into their program.
After a rigorous selection and vetting process, these students have been enrolled to study a three-year course in dressmaking, ICT, leather work, and electronics.
This was made possible through the generous support of the Center’s partner, Disability Not Inability (DNI) Foundation.
Acknowledging their crucial assistance, St Theresah Vocational Training Center aims to galvanize further support from organizations, individuals, and businesses to promote awareness and actively support persons with disabilities, particularly children, while also rekindling hope in humanity.
Embracing their core values, the Center champions the principles of inclusivity, independence, education, empowerment, collaboration, advocacy, and accessibility.
The Center believes in embracing diversity and respecting the unique abilities and perspectives of individuals with disabilities.
“By promoting the independence of persons with disabilities, the Center recognizes their right to make choices, assume control of their lives, and actively partake in decision-making processes that impact them.
Valuing the transformative power of education, St Theresah Vocational Training Center is committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities have equal access to quality educational opportunities,” it said in a statement.
By providing individuals with disabilities the necessary tools, education, and resources, the Center aims to empower them to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
Moreover, St. Theresah Vocational Training Center understands the strength of collaboration and actively seeks partnerships with other organizations, communities, and individuals to maximize its impact and create a more inclusive environment.
As advocates, they are dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.
“The Center strongly believes in the importance of creating an environment that is accessible to all individuals, striving to eliminate physical, social, and communication barriers in order to ensure equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
The enrollment of these six students with diverse physical disabilities is a significant step towards creating an inclusive community where everyone can thrive.
The Center hopes that this achievement will inspire others to join their cause, extending a helping hand and supporting their mission of fostering inclusivity and empowerment for persons with disabilities,” it added.
