Mob Lynches Homosexual

Abdul Latif Suweid

The spate of attacks on persons suspected to be homosexuals has reached its peak, as the debate over strict anti-gay Bill in Ghana’s Parliament heightens.

The latest to face the wrath of Ghana’s homophobic youth was a youngman known only as Osman.

Osman was lynched by the youth of Kumasi as he was suspected to be having an romantic affair with a certain Abdul Latif Suweid.

The two were arrested by the youth last Friday and beaten to pulp.

It was gathered that Osman died from his injuries. However, the fate and whereabouts of Abdul Latif was unknown at the time of filing this story.

In the last few years, there have been calls for a strict anti-LGBTQ law, with some Parliamentarians offering to sponsor a new Bill in that regard.

However, the incessant attacks on persons suspected to be gay has been a source of worry to human rights activists in the country.
