For Lack Of Knowledge NDC Will Perish
John Mahama and the NDC do not understand the problems facing the people.
For almost eight years in opposition, John Mahama has not been able to diagnose the ills of the country even as he promised a “reset”. In the meantime, the NDC has not been able to explain in simple terms what its major policy proposal, the 24-hour economy means and how it will work if John Mahama is elected as the President.
We will continue to expose the loopholes in the so-called 24-hour economy in order to avoid the situation where John Mahama will attempt to lead the people astray.
It is our conviction that the NDC and its flagbearer, John Mahama, lack the knowhow to understand the nuances of the 24-hour economy in selected countries in the world.
Any NDC apparatchik who doubts our diagnosis of the “Indian Spell” that has blinded the actions of the NDC, can attempt the polemics with us even with the reader’s letter, and that person again will expose his or her ignorance of the subject, like John Mahama did when he equated the 24-hour economy to the operations of discos or “clubbing”.
Prior to that, another NDC serial caller said 24- hour economy means the rearing of lions for export to Pudong in China. Okudzeto Ablakwa in his explanation of the same 24-hour economy said under the policy more airports will be built, although existing airports are underutilised.
While some party goons in their attempts at explaining the policy pointed at the selling of waakye even at midnight, others said ‘bushmeat’ can be bought at wee hours of the night.
At a time when the world was proceeding into another industrial age of digitalisation, somebody who wants to lead again is talking about backyard poultry keeping.
Ghana has moved on to another level, courtesy of our innovative thinker and bold problem solver, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and so such infantile and inexplicable policies such as the 24-hour economy should be ignored.
We think that the NDC lacks the knowledge to “reset” the economy and even carry out any interventions to address the challenges its flagbearer keeps making ugly noises about.
We think the NDC has never showed signs as a responsible opposition, ready to form the next government, otherwise John Mahama would have been unambiguous in stating the concept notes about his interventions and would not say, “I will initiate a policy dialogue on the 24-hour economy if elected.”
This is why some commentators think that the NDC, if it is voted into power with John Mahama leading, will fulfil the Biblical injunction of “for lack of knowledge, my people perish” as the party pushes the country into the abyss.
We said yesterday that there is something in a name, and that is why the NDC should not concentrate on the campaign but find time to consult the oracles to find out “what is going wrong with the NDC,” to the extent that the NDC flagbearer is asking Ghanaians to bear with him to take a period of honeymoon.
Even the free Senior High School (SHS), according to him, would be subjected to a stakeholders’ consultation in the unlikely event of his returning to power. To talk about a consultation over a policy which has been embraced by all Ghanaians is not only exhibition of ignorance about the realities on the ground, but recklessness by someone who should know better as a former President.
