President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed unwavering confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s bid for the presidency in the 2024 elections.
In an exclusive interview with France24, Akufo-Addo praised Bawumia’s campaign efforts, highlighting his message’s resonance, particularly among Ghana’s youth.
President Akufo-Addo attributed Bawumia’s success to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s achievements during their nearly eight years in office.
Key reforms in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and the digital economy have laid a solid foundation for Bawumia’s campaign.
“The Ghanaian people know that the nearly eight years we were in office were not wasted. We did a lot, major reforms in education, in our health system, in our road infrastructure, in the development of the digital economy,” Akufo-Addo emphasized.
Dr Bawumia’s innovative ideas, especially those focused on empowering young people, have impressed Akufo-Addo.
“He has brought some new ideas to the surface, especially how the young people can get involved in developing themselves and the nation’s economy.”
President Akufo-Addo’s endorsement concludes with a bold prediction: “I believe that he is waging a good campaign. That is what gives me confidence that he is going to win. I believe that he will win.”
