The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) has commissioned a polyclinic and two Community Health-based Planning and Services (CHPS) in the Volta and Oti regions.

As part of KOFIH’s commitment to improve maternal and child healthcare in Ghana, it has undertaken projects to help strengthen healthcare services in underserved communities.

KOFIH has refurbished the Likpe Polyclinic in the Guan District to improve its capacity to deliver essential healthcare services to the locals in the district.

The reform include modernised facilities and new equipment which will enable the clinic provide better maternal and child healthcare and also respond effectively to emergencies.

Also, KOFIH has inaugurated the Chantai CHPS compound in the Krachi West Municipality; this healthcare facility provides antenatal and postnatal care, vaccination programmes and health education in the municipality.

Again, Dzindziso CHPS Compound located in Kadjebi district which was also supported by KOFIH has been equipped to deliver primary healthcare service for the community.

The facility is designed as the community point of care to aid in early health interventions and preventive care with trained staff and necessary medical equipment.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Country Director of KOFIH, Ghana Office, Ms. Chae Eun Kim, expressed gratitude for the longstanding partnership with the Oti Region, and emphasised KOFIH’s commitment to supporting sustainable healthcare in underserved communities.

Also, the Oti Regional Health Director, Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh, showed appreciation to KOFIH for their support in the health sector, and noted that the facilities reflect a strong commitment to longterm partnership and improved health care services for local communities.
