Ghanaian stylist and fashion critic, Charlie Dior, has expressed his disappointment with model and actress Nana Akua Addo for her deliberate avoidance of the red carpet at major star-stunned events.

According to the award-winning fashion critic, Nana Akua Addo’s tendency to post heavily photoshopped images on social media instead of making an appearance on the red carpet is disrespectful to those who do attend.

“I have an issue with Nana Akua Addo and other celebrities who do not show up on the red carpet but submit photos. In this age of AI, we need to see how the outfits move,” he told NewsOne.

He added, “Not showing up on the red carpet but submitting photos is a big slap in the face to many people, including myself. It’s not fair that she always submits these heavily photoshopped pictures while we have to use those same images to compare with those who actually made it on the red carpet. It’s just not right.”

Charlie Dior noted that the last time Nana Akua Addo appeared on the red carpet was three years ago at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) night.

“And it did not reflect the pictures she sent. Do you understand what I’m saying? The pictures were almost perfect, but the red carpet images did not live up to that hype. I think that’s one of the reasons why she deliberately avoids the red carpet, and I don’t think it’s fair.”

His comments come in response to Nana Akua Addo’s recent claims about wearing Hacchic Couture to the recently ended EMY Africa Awards.

Charlie Dior emphasised the importance of celebrities attending red carpet events for visibility and cultural significance.

“Can you imagine a world where everyone stays home and submits pictures? Who’s going to show up on the red carpet? She needs to be there and stop being lazy because that’s what it looks like—it’s giving very much laziness,” he stated.
