Emmanuel Adjei, a Ghanaian-born resident in Munich, Germany, is undertaking an epic 10,000-kilometer cycling adventure from Munich to Accra to raise funds in support of education in his hometown, Teshie and across rural Ghana.

The charity project, dubbed Bike2MyRoots, is Mr. Adjei’s 100,000 euros solo cycling fundraiser to support EduSpots, a local NGO working to create access to quality education in underserved areas.

The journey, which will go through 15 countries to build, inspire, and explore, is estimated to last a hundred days. It began on 7th June 2025 and has taken Emmanuel through some major cities and towns in Germany, Switzerland, France, and Spain on the European continent.

At Tarifa, a city in Spain, Emmanuel joined a ferry to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Morocco, where he is continuing the adventure, crossing countless borders, navigating rugged terrains through deserts and wetlands, and enduring unpredictable weather in support of education and empowerment for deprived Ghanaian communities.

So far, Mr. Adjei has been riding approximately 120 km through day and night before taking rests in self-prepared tents along the streets, beach, parks, filling stations, nearby forests, or with good Samaritans providing him with shelter and meals. He sometimes prepares his dinner with mobile kitchen set he carries along the journey.

Speaking from his current location in Morocco via WhatsApp call, Emmanuel used the opportunity to call on all well-meaning Ghanaians to support him by donating through MoMo number 0593949413 (EduSpots), with “Bike” as a reference to meet his 100,000 euros target for a good cause.

‘You can follow my progress on Instagram, @Bike2MyRoots, to know more about my journey,’ he added.
