Association Of Election Prophets

It has never been so cacophonous. It is all about the internal elections of a political party, of course, one of the two dominant ones and it has generated so much hue and cry.

The decibel is so high that we are tempted to ask whether it is about the 2028 elections and not one limited to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Even non-NPP political groupings have jumped into the fray, throwing their weight behind one of the contenders in a manner deliberately subtle to keep it from prying eyes. We can ask nonetheless: what is the bottom-line? Perhaps mischief, if we may proffer a thought.

The unusual entry of pastors with political inclinations coupled with unknown ad hoc pollsters of no known or fixed addresses has raised the pitch of the noise even higher.

Describe the trend as a burgeoning industry of prophets and you won’t be wrong.

They would not have deserved flaks for their prophecies had they not proceeded to engage in campaigning for their preferred candidates. It is this preference which colours their prophecies and raise questions about their authenticity as real men of God.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, unfortunately, this adage is hardly a cornerstone of these commercial prophets who have specialised in election prophecies.

Ghana is set to welcome new entrants into the Election Prophets Grouping come the next campaign season, ahead of the presidential and parliamentary polls in 2028, because there is money in it, especially when their prophecy game of chance comes to pass.

They are so glued to their flourishing industry that for them, science and data mean nothing.

Some of them have unwittingly suggested that God’s word is not permanent and can change, hence their prophecies changing directions kaleidoscopically by the day sometimes.  It is normal these days to have some of them claim God spoke to them about the changed fortunes.

Let no man mock God the Omnipotent.

Those who said they would dismantle ‘one-man churches’ when they get political power have overnight found in such entities friendship or if you like fellowship.

As the hours tick towards the voting day, many more prophecies will be released and so would the survey reports.

The bottom-line is that because the stakes are unusually high, some of the candidates with a proclivity to dishonesty have turned to mind games to achieve their goals.

With the internet’s attribute of never lying intact, we would see the true colours of the so-prophets on Saturday evening when the verdict hits the public space.

The mind game space is not dominated by prophets only but pollsters, some of them hardly heard of before.

There is little doubt that most of them are the creatures of some contenders to play a crucial role in the ongoing mind game.

There has been no dearth of prophecies and survey reports in the media in the past few weeks, all about who wears the crown on Saturday.

Desperation can drive contenders in any enterprise to adopt assortment of modules, some of them dishonest and full of derision.
