This year’s awards ceremony was under the theme, “Rebuilding Trust, Restoring Hope: A New Era of Governance in Ghana”.

In an interview with the DAILY GUIDE after receiving the awards, Dr. Brown thanked the organisers of the awards ceremony for recognising his outstanding works and honouring him accordingly.

The world-acclaimed Genotype and Sickle Cell expert stated emphatically that the awards would motivate him to continue with his exemplary works for the country through community outreach programmes.

Dr. Brown said, “The Blood and Genotype Awareness Foundation, has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at raising awareness about sickle cell disease and ultimately eradicating the condition in the country by the year 2030.

“The foundation is committed to educating the public on the importance of knowing one’s blood type and genotype, emphasising that informed decisions can significantly reduce the prevalence of sickle cell disease.

“Through community outreach, educational programmes, and partnerships with healthcare providers, the organisation seeks to empower individuals, especially young people and couples with the knowledge needed to prevent the transmission of the disease”.

Sickle cell disease, Dr. Brown pointed out, continues to affect thousands of families across Ghana, saying “With proper awareness, testing, and responsible decision-making, this condition can be drastically reduced and eventually eliminated”.

The President of BGAF, therefore, appealed passionately to all media houses in the country to actively support his foundation in realising its great ambition.
