SOCIAL MEDIA sensation, Aba Dope, born Loretta Abba Dexter Banaman Martin, has been criticised for dressing in a bridal attire at Snapchat influencer Kwatemaa’s wedding event, which was held over the weekend.
This criticism rose after Aba Dope posted a video of her outfit on her TikTok page, acknowledging the team behind her look.
The post read, “Wedding guest honoured to model in Yaa Pormaa’s new collection, this year, the theme is women supporting women in business, and I’m all out ready, especially for those who also support my mini food business.
“I promise to use my numbers to also push all brands. Yaa Pormaa nailed, and I thank God the shoot was a success. We will be launching all the collection soon.”
The post has generated over one million views, 157.7k likes, 2729 comments, 6263 saves and 6,225 shares, with many of Aba Dope’s followers criticising her for trying to outshine the bride on her wedding day. Some of the comments read: KEEP HER, “Kwatemaa will regret inviting u (you).”
Too Sweet Serwaa wrote, “Ah how can (u) you outshine the bride on her day…X like u are competing with her.”
Oyokoba Jane wrote: “I like the dress. You are looking amazing and blessed but sweetie the truth is one. This is not fair. You did a wrong thing.”
EllaGold added, “Are you the one doing the wedding? What is the meaning of this dress?”
Darkowaah wrote, “I hate a friend like dis (this), it’s ur (your) friend’s day, let her shine wai.”
The union between Kwatemaa and her husband, Nana Bediako, was highly publicised, with some high-profile personalities in attendance.
