The items donated to the hospital
Abroso Group of Companies, a dealer in spare parts, has donated assorted items valued at GH¢10,000 to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi to help deal with the coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
The items consisted of infrared thermometre guns, hand gloves, toilet rolls, liquid soaps, sanitizers, Veronica buckets, mob buckets and sticks, multipurpose jumbo towels, nose masks and tissue papers.
Isaac Cobbinah, Public Relations Officer of the group of companies, which included a transport business, explained that they wanted to encourage the government’s efforts to stem the threat posed by the disease.
“In this world, when God blesses you, you should also be a blessing to others so the CEO of the group of companies, Charles Ahiati, deemed it fit to present these items to show our support to the hospital in its quest to deal with the threat of Covid-19.
Receiving the items, Michael Danso, the administrator of the health facility, expressed his gratitude to the company for the gesture.
He noted that the donation was timely; particularly the hand washing items, to enable both health workers and visitors to the facility ensure regular hand washing under running water.
“We are appealing to other institutions to emulate what Abroso Group of Companies has done so we can help more people,” he said.
The company later presented some items including a laptop computer and a scanning machine, Veronica buckets and gallons of liquid soap as well as sanitizers to the Takoradi-Accra station of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) in Takoradi.
George Senkyire, Advisor at the station, said the machines presented would help the station operate effectively its planned online ticketing.
He noted that the station masters were ensuring strict adherence to all the safety protocols, and mentioned that the other items donated would help the drivers and passengers wash their hands properly.
