John Boadu
ASPIRING GENERAL Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has received an overwhelming endorsement from the Greater Accra Regional delegates of the party.
NPP’s Members of Parliament (MPs), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region believe Mr. Boadu is fit enough to become the substantive General Secretary of the party.
“The NPP already has a competent General Secretary in you,” the delegates told Mr. Boadu during his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region.
The Acting General Secretary, who doubles as the National Organizer of the party, is currently on a campaign tour visiting each of the 34 constituencies of the region ahead of the party’s upcoming National Annual Delegates Conference scheduled for July 7, 2018, in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.
Friday, June 1, which happened to be Day 3 of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, saw him visiting the Amasaman, Tro-Bu, Okaikoi North and Okaikoi Central constituencies where he interacted with the party executives on his message concerning grassroots empowerment, administrative discipline and strengthening of party structures for victory 2020 and beyond.
His message was well received by the constituency executives most of whom pledged not only to vote for him but also to go all out and campaign to make him secure a 100% endorsement at the National Annual Delegates Conference.
They also cited, as part of their reasons for supporting him, his vast experience and proven track record of unbeatable performance, particularly his latest feat in the 2016 electioneering period as National Organizer, Acting General Secretary and Director of the entire operations of the NPP campaign.
Again, the delegates asserted that John Boadu had been a very competent Acting General Secretary of the party in two years; hence there was absolutely no reason to change him.
According to them, their task in Koforidua on July 7, will be to do away with the word, “Acting” attached to his position, thereby making him the party’s substantive General Secretary.
