Action Aid UK delegation with Salifu Saeed and Solomon Boar in Tamale
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has commended Action Aid for contributing immensely to the education of girls in the region.
Mr Salifu Saeed indicated that to a large extent, the development of girls and empowerment of women in the region can be attributed to the efforts of Action Aid, NGOs and philanthropists in the region.
He entreated management of Action Aid to train and empower more women in the area of agriculture, saying that the region is blessed with vast arable lands for the cultivation of various cash crops to increase the incomes of women to reduce poverty in the region.
Margaret Casely-Hayford, Board Chair Action Aid- UK, who is on a working visit to Ghana, expressed appreciation to the regional minister for helping the organization to attain its goals.
She pledged the support of Action Aid UK towards the development, growth, empowerment and education of women and girls in the region in collaboration with government to reduce adverse poverty.
Prince Osei Agyekum, Head of Fundraising, Action Aid Ghana, commended the government for its pro poor policies aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
He also praised the Regional Minister for promoting peace and development in the region.
