Nollywood is in mourning following the tragic death of actress and filmmaker, Sharon Okpamen, who passed away on Sunday, nearly a month after giving birth to her second child.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her colleague, Stanley Ontop, who shared the announcement on Instagram account on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Stanley expressed his sorrow, writing, “Nollywood actor and producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry.
“Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur & humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry. May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen @sharonokpamen.”
Sharon Okpamen had recently celebrated the birth of her second child, announcing the joyous occasion on July 31 on her Facebook page.
However, after childbirth, she reportedly went into a coma, and despite efforts to save her, she ultimately succumbed.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the industry and among her fans.
