Dignitaries cut the anniversary cake
Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumuah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMa) has appealed to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey to help resolve the protracted boundary issues which have bedeviled the assembly since its inception in 2008.
Addressing a colourful durbar of past and current staff of the assembly, traditional authorities among other dignitaries during the climax of activities marking the assembly’s tenth (10th) anniversary on Wednesday, the MCE indicated that the interferences by its neighbours was seriously affecting the assembly’s revenue mobilization efforts besides being a setback to the residents as to which assembly to deal with.
He mentioned the North West boundary of the Assembly with La-Nkwatang Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMa), the East with Kpone Katamanso, Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) and Ashaiman among other areas, as where the issues are very prevalent.
“This problem has persisted for far too long and I believe it is time the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) gives it a head on approach, we can no longer allow our field staff to engage in confrontations,” he stated.
The MCE who paid glowing tribute to the pioneers of the assembly for their dedication indicated that the assembly is collaborating with the security agencies to flush out the activities of land guards and sand winners in the municipality.
Mr. Nii-Noi Adumuah also cautioned private and commercial estate developers to ensure they have proper documentation of their property and warned that the assembly will soon embark on a demolishing exercise to eliminate structures in water ways as well as others on unauthorized locations.
The Deputy Executive Director of the Centre for Local Government Advocacy (CLGA), Gladys Gillian Tetteh who started as an assembly member and rose to a Presiding Member of the assembly urged the management of the assembly to pay more attention to customer services since that was the right approach to branding and helping the assembly to win public confidence.
Twenty pioneering staff of the assembly including Coordinating Directors, Presiding and Assembly Members and Chief Executives received awards for their dedicated service to the assembly in their respective schedules.
