The Ghana National Association of ADR Practitioners (GNAAP) has donated GH?10,000 to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund established to receive contributions and donations from the public to assist in the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable.
This donation is intended to support government’s efforts in giving special assistance to people and businesses affected by the interruptions caused by the global coronavirus pandemic, particularly patients and convalescents.
President of GNAAP, Daniel Owusu- Koranteng, who made the presentation on behalf of the association, said the GNAAP was encouraged by the efforts of government in resolving the Covid-19 crisis.
“As an organization that promotes peaceful and non- adversarial methods of resolving conflicts, we appreciate the efforts made by government so far to addressing the problems generated around the Covid-19 pandemic and we are here to support those efforts,” he stated.
The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, who received the donation, thanked members of GNAAP for the support.
“ADR is my passion and I know that Covid-19 has affected your work. As ADR practitioners, your work involves physical contacts. We thank you so much for your support,” she indicated.
She encouraged Ghanaians to continuously wear mask and wash their hands regularly with soap under running water since they proved to be among the best preventive measures in containing the spread of the viral disease.
The former Chief Justice assured that the monies received into trust fund would be used for the purpose intended.
The GNAAP president was accompanied by Marc Anderson, the General Secretary; Barbara Tetteh, board member and Isaac Asare, Administrator of GNAAP.
