Africa Law Practice NG & Co, ALA Ghana Form New Alliance

Africa Law Practice NG & Company (ALP NG & Co.) Nigeria and Africa Legal Associates (ALA) Ghana, two giant legal firms have formed a new strategic alliance aimed at broadening their landscape in the provision of professional services and solutions across the African continent.

The strategic alliance now forms part of a thriving and purpose-driven Pan-African ALP International Practice Group.

Together with ALP Advocates Uganda, and ALP East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, and Tanzania), the alliance creates a significant legal and professional solutions footprint of expertise across Africa.

ALA in Ghana is a full-service Pan-African firm with market-leading capabilities in various sectors and in-depth knowledge and experience.

ALP NG & Co. in Nigeria, on the other hand, is a commercial law firm that brings together legal, business, and policy expertise that underscores Africa’s growth.

The two Africa-focused firms ALA Ghana and ALP NG & Co. Nigeria both have multidisciplinary professional service practices and will cross-sell and offer combined services and resources to the legal markets in Ghana, Nigeria, and across Africa.

Commencing July 2016, a number of law firms entered into formal arrangements to form the ALP International Practice Group across Africa.

This alliance has grown as of March 2024, with Africa Legal Associates (ALA) becoming the ALP International Partner in Ghana.

Together, the ALP International Practice Group comprises specialists with shared values of integrity, pragmatism, and diversity who work with leading technology providers to modernise legal functions across organisations, ensuring a seamless offering of professional services and solutions across the African continent while championing the emerging African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Together with Africa Law Practice NG & Company (ALP NG & Co.) in Nigeria, ALP Advocates Uganda, ALP Kenya and ALP Tanzania (Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania are together ALP East Africa) and soon to join Rwanda; they create a significant legal footprint of expertise across Africa.

In a joint communique released on Monday, April 22, 2024, the firms stated: “We are all privileged and honoured to have this esteemed firm joining the group. Our shared values of integrity, pragmatism and diversity will ensure a seamless offering of professional services and solutions across our continent.”

“We will continue to serve our clients on this growing continentally connected professional legal services platform with a wider global reach,” the statement added.
