Alhaji Salamu Amadu, President and CEO of Afro-Arab Microfinance, a key subsidiary of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, has been named the Best CEO of the Year in the Microfinance category at the prestigious Ghana CEO Awards.
The event, held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, brought together the crème de la crème of Ghana’s business community.
This award is a significant acknowledgment of Ambassador Amadu’s unwavering commitment to empowering the youth and women of Zongo communities through strategic financial initiatives.
Under his leadership, Afro-Arab Microfinance has become a lifeline for many aspiring entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary financial tools to build successful businesses and improve their quality of life. His efforts have not only fostered economic growth, but have also helped reduce poverty in some of the country’s most underserved areas.
The third edition of the Ghana CEO Awards was themed “CEOs for Climate: Steering towards a Greener Future,” reflecting the growing emphasis on sustainable business practices. The awards honoured leaders who have made substantial contributions to their industries while also championing the cause of environmental stewardship.
In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organisers, Globe Productions, spearheaded by Latif Abubakar, for the recognition. He stated, “I am deeply honoured to receive this award. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team at Afro-Arab Microfinance.
