Ahantaman Community Bank Records Strong Growth

The total assets of Ahantaman Community Bank in the Western Region grew from GH¢430,559,105 in 2024 to GH¢625,311,473 in 2025, representing an increase of 45.23 percent.

The bank’s profit before tax rose significantly from GH¢20,500,631 in 2024 to GH¢39,337,839 in 2025, marking a 91 percent increase.

Profit after tax also climbed from GH¢14,024,102 in 2024 to GH¢26,651,839 in 2025, reflecting a growth of 90.04 percent.

Deposits increased from GH¢367,253,780 in 2024 to GH¢522,553,765 in 2025, indicating a 42 percent rise.

These impressive results were disclosed at the bank’s 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Apowa in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region. The event also served as a farewell for the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Benjamin Afful-Eshun.

The Board Chairman, Rt. Rev. Daniel De-Graft Brace, stated that the bank’s total income recorded a 54.16 percent increase.

He attributed the strong performance to prudent management, strategic leadership, and the bank’s commitment to delivering value to shareholders.

On corporate social responsibility, he disclosed that the bank spent GH¢905,941 to support key community projects, including the renovation of the assembly hall of Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School.

The bank also received several awards, including Rural Bank of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Business Standards and the Achievement in Enterprise Award.

The Acting Managing Director of ARB Apex Bank, Curtis William Bretuo, commended the bank for its strong financial performance and continued investment in community development.

“As the CEO brings his career to a close on an exceptionally high note, many of the milestones we celebrate today were achieved under his leadership,” he said.

Solomon Amankwah, Executive Director of the Association of Community Banks, attributed the bank’s success to disciplined operations, sound corporate governance, and effective risk management.

The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, also praised the bank for its contribution to local economic development and its continued support for institutions within its operational areas.
