Alexander Dei Urged To Support Creative Industry

The chief executive officer of Will Do Family, Alexander Dei who is also the organizer of Miss Will Do beauty pageant, has called on the creative industry stakeholders to stand behind one another no matter where they are in the business.

He urged the stakeholders to invest in the industry to enable it meet the challenges ahead.

According him, the creative arts industry has been on a decline in recent times, with many players resorting to other jobs to generate extra income.

Alexander Dei stated that the absence of support from the government for the enactment of laws protecting the industry stakeholders is one of the main issues facing the sector.

He believes that investing in the creative industry would help the industry break into the global movie market, adding that investing in the industry by the government will boost the image of the industry.

He indicated that in order to make the creative arts business in Ghana more profitable and appealing to outsiders, government need to invest in it.

He said government doesn’t have to toy with the industry since it has the potential to support development across board.

He mentioned that the country is blessed with talented creative artists in various fields, and supporting their crafts would spur employment opportunities for the teeming youth.

He explained that elsewhere, the creative sectors are creating jobs for millions, hence it should be milked to the core.
According to him, the creative industry has the potential to generate about five billion dollars for the economy.
