Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited in the Western Region says it is committed to supporting the establishment of Amenfi State University College in the Wassa Amenfi area of the region.

Plans are afoot to establish the Amenfi State University College in the Wassa Amenfi area.

The project is being spearheaded by the Tetrete Foundation, an education-focused non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The university college aims to train and develop human resources in the region as well as serve as an institution for research.

Construction is currently underway, but the project requires further support to be completed.

The Tetrete Foundation is therefore actively seeking funding and support from individuals and organisations to finalise the construction.

This came to light when the foundation, on behalf of the Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II presented a gift box to Samartex, for the company’s enormous support to Wassa Amenfi in general.

The Project Coordinator, Ezekiel Agyensem Korankye commended Samartex for supporting the foundation, particularly during a recent fundraising event.

The Managing Director of Samartex Timber and Plywood Company, Richard Duah Nsenkyire, received the gift and thanked the foundation for the collaboration.

He noted that the donation highlighted the strong partnership between the Tetrete Foundation and Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited.

“It also demonstrates the foundation’s appreciation for the company’s support and its commitment to making a positive impact in the community,” he stressed.

He encouraged other corporate institutions and individuals to also support in diverse ways, to ensure that the dream of having the Amenfi State University in the area becomes a reality.
