Vincent Opare
Angel FM’s CEO, Vincent Opare, has dismissed claims that the radio station abandoned its journalist, Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii, after he was injured in a shooting incident.
Mr. Opare explained that the station provided about GH¢750,000 to help pay for Kofi’s treatment. After Kofi was shot in the face while covering a festival in Dormaa Ahenkro, he was sent abroad for eye surgery. Opare visited the hospital himself to check on Kofi’s condition and to offer support to his family.
He said that the company first paid GH¢110,000 for Kofi’s eye screening. Later, Angel FM’s owner, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, added an extra $40,000 (about GH¢640,000) for further treatment, which was done in stages. However, Opare noted that they have not yet received an official report of the medical expenses.
