Nollywood drama has spilt beyond the screen as actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested over an alleged cyberbullying case involving her colleague, Mercy Johnson.
According to reports, Angela Okorie was picked up at her Lagos residence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja.
The arrest was made public by entertainment journalist and BON Awards founder, Seun Oloketuyi, on Wednesday.
Oloketuyi disclosed that the actress spent the night in custody at the Yaba (Panti) Police Station before being flown to Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday to face court proceedings.
“Angela Okorie was arrested yesterday at her Lagos residence by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja. She was put on a 6am flight to Abuja this morning to face court proceedings connected to a cybercrime matter involving Mercy Johnson,” he wrote on Instagram.
The reported arrest comes barely a week after Mercy Johnson publicly warned that cyberbullying targeted at her and her family would no longer be tolerated in 2026, signalling a tougher stance against online harassment.
