Anne-Marie gets Zonta post

Anne-Marie Ewurafua French Cudjoe

Anne-Marie Ewurafua French Cudjoe has been installed Governor for District 18 of Zonta International, a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.

As Governor of District 18, she will superintend over 18 clubs in 9 countries namely Senegal, Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Uganda. Her two years mandate will end at the Yokohama Convention in 2018.

A news release issued by the club said Anne-Marie was installed at the 63rdZonta International Convention in Nice, France, held early this month which had more than 2,000 Zontians and guests in attendance.

Held under the theme “Empowering Women – Together” the release said “With the generous support and commitment of Zonta Clubs and individual Zonta Club members around the globe, the Zonta International Foundation raised 93.5 percent of its biennial fundraising goal for Zonta’s projects and programs that empower women worldwide through service and advocacy.”

It said the newly installed 2016-2018 Zonta International President Sonja Hönig Schough’s biennial goals which will guide Zonta International and the Districts for the next two years, focus on five key areas: Service, Advocacy, Membership, Resources and Zonta’s Centennial Anniversary in 2019.

The release said Anne-Marie is a charter member of Zonta Club of Accra II and has been a Zontian since December 1996 and has held various leadership roles at club level, including Treasurer, Vice President and President, and has been Chairman of various club committees.

“At District level, Anne-Marie was a member of the Nominating Committee, Chairman of the Status of Women Service Committee, Vice Area Director, Co-Chairman of the 20th District 18 Conference, Chairman of the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships and Young Women in Public Affairs Awards Committees, and Lieutenant Governor.”
