US rapper Slim 400 has reportedly been rushed to hospital after being shot eight times in Compton in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
TMZ say that police received a call at 8:30pm on Friday night to attend a shooting in Compton, and it was understood the rapper was the victim.
It is not known where on his body he had been shot, but he is reportedly in a critical, but stable condition.
Fellow rapper YG, whom he collaborated with, was at his bedside all night and said he was conscious.
It is not clear what happened during the attack, but it is thought a black car was involved after it was seen being driven away from the scene.
It comes only three months after Grammy nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles.
His funeral was held in the Staples Centre arena in LA, and was attended by thousands of people and included eulogies from stars such as Snoop Dogg.
Compton is an area of Los Angeles which is widely known for its links to hip-hop with artistes such as Coolo, NWA and Kendrick Lamar, all hailing from the city.
