Abusuapanyin Kwadwo Odame seated with some elders at the Family House
The head of the Prah Royal Family at Anum Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, Opanyin Kwadwo Odame, has given a month’s ultimatum to the chief of the town, Nana Osei Nyarko III, to either abdicate or discharge his duties effectively.
“We have no intention to discredit our royal, however his actions of late toward the community has placed us in a tight corner. The entire community is calling for his replacement,” Opanyin Kwadwo Odame remarked.
According to the Opanyin Odame, both the Prah Royal family and the community of Anum Boso, are worried about the absence of their chief in their community.
Addressing journalists at the family house last Saturday, the head of Family indicated that Nana Osei Nyarko III failed to take part in the celebration of the Forty Day cycle event (adae) with his people.
He argued that the Royal family had made several efforts over the year to meet Nana Osei Nyarko over the matter.
The Head of family further mentioned that the situation was negatively affecting the development of the community both spiritually and physically.
Opanyin Odame, who appealed to the youth of the town to exercise patience for the family to meet with their son (Nana Osei Nyarko III), assured that the matter would be resolved before the upcoming Odwira festivities.
A visit to the magnificent Anum Boso Palace by DAILY GUIDE revealed that the forecourt of beautiful palace had been deserted, with traces of algae on the floor.
A young man also warned that they would hold a massive demonstration to press home their demands for the chief to abdicate.
