Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, stormed the Western Region last week on a ‘Thank You Tour’ of the region.

The visit, according to ‘General Mosquito’, was intended to express the party’s gratitude to its faithful supporters in the area.

In the Wassa Amenfi West Constituency, the National Chairman of the ruling party assured party members that the NDC is committed to delivering on all its campaign promises.

“The current NDC administration remains committed to ensuring that the government deliver on all its campaign promises,” he stressed.

At Bogoso in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality, Asiedu Nketia urged the party members to work harder to ensure that the area becomes the stronghold of the ruling party.

He said although the NDC currently enjoys a comfortable lead in the area and the region, complacency could erode the gains made by the party.

He, therefore, called on supporters at all levels to remain active and committed as the party prepares for the 2028 general election.

Asiedu Nketia asserted that the NDC’s economic transformation agenda, which focuses on resetting the economy, job creation, macroeconomic stability, and structural reforms, remains key to sustaining public confidence.

He further stated that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC government will ensure Ghana’s natural resources are managed effectively to benefit all citizens.

For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni Valley, Mathew Aryeh, highlighted some development challenges facing the municipality, particularly the poor state of road infrastructure.

He, therefore, appealed for the inclusion of the area in the ‘Big Push’ initiative.

He also raised concerns about the operations of some mining companies in the municipality, and called for government’s intervention.
