Chairman of Management Committee of Ave Dakpa and the visioneer for the Ave Dakpa Peace Walk, Rev. Perry Nyamekor, has described the inaugural special walk as a huge success.

To him, the three-day walk aimed at creating awareness development and the need to protect the peace of the people of Ave Dakpa achieved its intended purpose.

The special walk, which started from the Tema Motorway through Sege, Ada, Sogakope, and Akatsi, ended at Ave Dakpa, Akatsi North.

He said in a post walk interview, “l must admit it was a huge success, considering the fact that we achieved our primary objective of creating awareness of the importance of peace ahead of the 2024 general elections. We succeeded in appealing to the traditional leaders in the area, raised funds aimed at building a library and an ICT centre for the town and to put the town out there as a potential tourism destination.”

It was themed “Uniting Towards a Peaceful Development” and drew close to 100 people.

He added, “We preached the need to protect the peace we are enjoying before, during and after our general elections.

“When we are together as a people, we will travel faster, we appealed to all in the area to join as well as donate to this worthy project.”

The walk was sponsored by Jonmoore International Limited and supported by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi North, Peter Nortsu Kotoe, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akatsi North, Peter Fosu, and former DCE for Akatsi District (USA), Christian Agbozo.
