Hassan Ayariga
A dismissed General Secretary of the All People’s Congress (APC) has alleged that the party stole the manifesto of the New Patriotic Party and launched it.
Razak Kojo Opoku said on Adom FM that he is ready to assist the police in investigating this issue should he be arrested.
The APC stated after the launch of its manifesto in October that it would be on the lookout for any acts of plagiarism of their manifesto by the NPP.
Soon after the NPP launched its manifesto, the APC threatened a lawsuit against the party for plagiarising its manifesto ideas.
Before the planned suit could manifest, the Flagbearer of the party, Hassan Ayariga was disqualified from contesting the 2016 election.
Razak Opoku’s allegation follows an endorsement of the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo by Mr Opoku and the Party’s Vice-Chairman, Emmanuel Carl Bartels on behalf of the party.
He stated on Adom FM that the APC is an “agenda-setting political party established to destroy another political party…the APC ‘s manifesto is the NPP’s manifesto.”
But Mr Ayariga believes the former secretary is “engaging in dirty politics because he is bitter.”
He called on the NPP to order the former general secretary’s arrest and urged all to disregard the endorsement as the two executives of the party were suspended before the endorsement.
“The party is yet to declare its stance today and what they did was against the constitution of the party,” Mr Ayariga indicated.
Razak Opoku, who insists he is still at post claimed Mr Ayariga is condemning the endorsement for the opposition leader because he is being sponsored by the incumbent’s John Dramani Mahama.
