The former National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has called on electorates to vote for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 elections,  to enable him execute the vision of the party aimed at transforming the country.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM, he said the ideas espoused by Dr. Bawumia as Vice President in the last seven years had not only impacted the party, but also gave hope to the country.

The NPP’s flagbearer in the lead up to the December 7 elections outlined several bold policies in the party’s manifesto to transform Ghana’s economy, with a focus on creating jobs for young people as well as developing businesses that could thrive in a global economy.

The NPP manifesto also underscores the importance of preparing the youth to appreciate the need to acquire digital skills to meet the current global demands.

The flagbearer’s vision also focuses on a significant shift toward increasing Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) for large scale infrastructural projects as well as encouraging the registration of lands without initial fee payment.

The NPP also promises to deepen financial inclusion through digital payments and mobile banking innovations as well as integrate more services with the Ghana Card, while modernising agricultural techniques.

According to Dr. Bawumia, the NPP government will continue to enhance the Free Senior High School (SHS) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes which provided opportunity for millions of students who could not have continued their education after completing Junior High School.

Mr. Blay said, “In terms of ideas that we have from the presidential candidate and selling to the masses of this country, I think the ideas are attractive, they are believable, great hope for us. It will bring Ghanaians together and give this country a lot of hope for the future. I think we are lucky to have had Dr. Bawumia around at this time.”

The former  Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, also stressed that Dr. Bawumia’s vision continuously inspires Ghanaians, particularly the youth, and expressed the need for the party and Ghanaians to appreciate an individual who is not only an asset to the party alone but the country as well.
